PEACE IN STORMY WEATHER
about
Peace in Stormy Weather (PSW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that started in 2021. Our goal is to help the homeless, underprivileged, low-income individuals and those residence who are in need of winter clothing living in Solano County.
PSW will be providing coats, jackets, rain capes, gloves, beanies, shoes, socks and hand warmers annually in the months of October, November and December.
Our prayer is that we can reach as many women, men and children as possible in need. We are seeking to form partnerships with the community churches, parks and recreations, low in come apartments and other locations, as needed.
TESTIMONY
As a child I watched my mom feed the homeless living on the streets of Texas. We did not have much, but we had a roof over our heads and clothes on our back. My mother showed us that helping others is a feeling of overwhelming joy that comes with helping those in need.
I started my non-profit with my like-minded friends, who have a heart to serve. They are members of the Board. They are passionate about helping others and have a giving and kind heart. We work so well and know what it means to serve. We are members of the same church and the same ministry. I joined the homeless ministry in 2013 at the advice of a friend. I invited another friend to join the ministry. We volunteered to serve food and passed out clothing and toiletries. It was put on my heart to buy shoes, toiletries, beanies, gloves, blankets, umbrellas, flip flops, etc. so that our homeless guests could shop for what they wanted. We collected donated clothing, so guests could also shop for clothing. The joy in their faces were priceless, because they know we cared about their well-being.
